Malecon Rare Proof 2009 13 Year Old

Malecon Rare Proof 2009 is a premium Panamanian rum from the Rare Proof edition that has been aged for 13 years in a tropical climate. It is made from high quality sugar cane from the fields surrounding the distillery.

It has been aged for 13 years in oak barrels, which have given it a pleasant tobacco flavour with notes of oranges, cinnamon and butter. Finally, it was bottled at a high 50,5 % alcohol content. It was distilled in 2009.

Driven by the passion and vision of two visionaries with great taste, Malecon rum is named after the legendary street in the centre of Havana where the recipe originates.

It begins with the harvesting of Panama's finest sugar cane, fermentation and maturation in oak barrels for ten, twelve, eighteen and twenty-five years. This process cannot be accelerated and must not be rushed. The result over time: a multitude of sensations, tones and remarkable sophistication.
