Nine Leaves 4 Casks Distilled 2017

Nine Leaves 4 Casks Distilled 2017 is one of the 5 vintages of the Unsun Karuta range of rums introduced in 2024 as part of the Foundations collection.

This is a rum distilled at the Nine Leaves distillery in 2017. This Japanese distillery, which was dismantled at the end of 2023, had to say goodbye to the last casks in the aging process. Independent bottler La Maison & Velier then acquired all the remaining batches.

From these, 4 ex-bourbon oak barrels were assembled , from which this expression was born. Yoshiharu Takeuchi chose to work with exceptional raw materials when making his rum. The Kokuto sugar is sourced from the Okinawa archipelago and the purest possible water comes from a spring near the distillery.

The flavour of this rum is full, rich and interestingly complex. It combines woody, floral and fruity notes, while the sweetness of honey and tannins balance beautifully with ginger and flowers. The finish is long and smooth, with a nice subtle spiciness that concludes this memorable experience. This rum is ideal for those looking for a sophisticated drink with a distinctive character.

The bottles are bottled at 59 % alcohol with a volume of 0,7 l and are supplied in gift cartons.
