Talisker Dark Storm 1l
Talisker Dark Storm is harsher than other Talisker whiskies, the malt is exposed to peat smoke longer during drying and the casks in which this whisky is matured are burnt a little more. The result is a more complex, robust and bigger whisky with sweet notes of blackcurrant and liquorice that are enveloped in a heavy veil of smoke.
Compared to a regular Talisker, it's actually harsher. The malt is exposed to peat smoke for longer during drying and the casks in which the 'Dark Storm' is matured are burnt a little more than those of the classic 'Storm'.
The Talisker distillery on the Isle of Skye was founded in 1830 by brothers Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill. The distillery went through several changes of ownership until Alexander Grigor Allan bought it in 1880 and completely rebuilt it.
Since 1997 the whisky has been stored not on the island but on the mainland. Talisker whisky is part of the Johnnie Walker and White Horse blends, but most of the production is bottled as single malt. It has a very distinctive flavour that has earned it the nickname 'the lava of the Cuillins'.
The bottles are filled at 45,8 % alcohol with a volume of 1 l. They come in beautiful gift boxes with a dark storm motif.
