Bacardi Añejo Cuatro is a 4-year-old rum created according to the recipe of Bacardi's founder, Dona Facunda. It is a rum that ages in oak barrels for a minimum of 4 years.
It is rated as a lively spirit with notes of honey, vanilla, and oak spice, with hints of cloves and a rich flavor of apricots. It is smooth, with a rounded taste. Its quality can be compared to 5 to 6-year-old rums.
The Bacardi company was founded in 1862 as a family business in Santiago de Cuba, the second largest city in Cuba. Its founder, Facundo Bacardí Massó, developed a unique method of rum production that became the basis for popular cocktails such as Cuba Libre and Daiquiri.
Bacardi moved to Bermuda and Puerto Rico, where it continued the tradition of producing quality rum and other alcoholic beverages. Today, the company is led by the eighth generation of the Bacardi family and is one of the largest family-owned alcohol producers in the world.
