Bacardi Añejo Cuatro is a 4-year-old rum that was created according to the recipe of Bacardi's founder, Don Facundo. It is a rum that is aged in oak barrels for a minimum of 4 years.
It is rated as a lively spirit with notes of honey, vanilla and oak spice, with a hint of cloves and a rich apricot flavour. It is smooth, with a rounded flavour. Its quality is comparable to that of a 5 or 6 year old rum.
Bacardi was founded in 1862 as a family business in Santiago de Cuba, the second largest city in Cuba. Its founder, Facundo Bacardí Massó, developed a unique method of rum production that has become the basis for popular cocktails such as the Cuba Libre and the Daiquiri.
Bacardi moved to Bermuda and Puerto Rico, where it continued its tradition of producing fine rum and other alcoholic beverages. Today, the company is run by the eighth generation of the Bacardi family and is one of the largest family-owned alcohol businesses in the world.
