Inspired by a family recipe from 1862, Reserva Ocho is also known as The Family Reserve. It is a complex golden rum with deep, layered and smooth flavours of dried fruit, spice and oaky vanilla.

Bacardi was founded in the aforementioned 1862 as a family business in Santiago de Cuba, the second largest city in Cuba. Its founder, Facundo Bacardí Massó, developed a unique method of rum production that became the basis for popular cocktails such as the Cuba Libre and the Daiquiri.

Bacardi moved to Bermuda and Puerto Rico, where it continued its tradition of producing fine rum and other alcoholic beverages. Today, the company is run by the eighth generation of the Bacardi family and is one of the largest family-owned alcohol businesses in the world.
