Bundle Equiano + Dos Maderas PX 5+5
Equiano is a unique Afro-Caribbean unsweetened molasses rum. This blend is mixed with molasses from Gray's distilleries on the African island of Mauritius and Foursquare on the island of Barbados.
Rum is first aged in Mauritius for 10 years in Limousin French oak and ex-cognac barrels. They are then transported to Barbados, where they are mixed with rum, which has been aged for at least 8 years in ex-bourbon barrels in Barbados.
Rum is named after the Nigerian writer Olaudah Equiano, who was a prominent aboliconist, a traveler, and one of the first slave freedom fighters in Africa. By trading in rum, Olaudah redeemed himself from slavery and could devote himself to the slave liberation movement. This is one of the reasons why the rum company (Equiano Rum Co) devotes a certain percentage of its profits to promoting equality.
Equiano is exclusively mixed and bottled at Foursquare Distillery in Barbados.
Rum Dos Maderas PX 5+5 first restes for five years in the Caribbean, then another three in the Williams & Humbert distillery in barrels where sherry Dos Cortados (Palo Cortado) matured, and finally completes the third stage, 2 years maturation in barrels where mature sherry Don Guido (Pedro Ximénez). This creates an extraordinary and especially first-class rum.
Sherry Both Don Guido and Dos Cortados have matured for 20 years, as evidenced by Jerez-Xérs-Sherry, the oldest destination in Spain. The bottle is located in a very nice brown-black tin gift tube.
