Clément Canne Bleue Rum 2022 is, like previous vintages, a single varietal AOC Martinique agricultural rum.
In the case of this 2022 vintage, the bottle design is colourful and disruptive in an electric, unconventional style. Two colours were chosen: blue to represent the freshness of the flavour, and yellow for the citrus notes.
This rum was made from pure cane juice in a copper Creole Column at the Simon distillery. It was then reduced and brewed very slowly for 6 months before bottling.
The nose opens with a rather candied profile, with cane and fragrant, sweet citrus fruits. Then a certain finesse and softness emerges, which soon contrasts with the drier, spicier cane fibre.
On the palate, the cane juice is bright, lively and clean. Its brightness is not obscured by fruit or spice, so it doesn't go out of its way. We follow the fibres of the cane along its stem. We start from its sweet base and work our way upwards, where the wind blows and the sun shines.
The finish is quite light, with a hint of saltiness.
The bottles are bottled at 50 % alcohol with a bottle capacity of 0,7 l.
