MacNair's Exploration Jamaica Peated is an exceptionally fine Jamaican blended rum that has been produced under the supervision of Master Distiller/Blender Billy Walker of The GlenAllachie Distillery.
The rum was distilled at the Clarendon Distillery, then transported to Scotland where it matured in cooler climates. After 30 months of aging in ex-rye, ex-wine Rioja and virgin oak barrels, individually aged rums with high, medium and low ester levels were blended.
Subsequently, the rum was precisely blended, reduced to 46% alcohol content and filled into ex-whisky The GlenAllachie casks, where it went through the second stage of maturation. The barrels gave the rum a slight spiciness with notes of smoke, butter, ginger and vanilla.
We recommend serving neat and at room temperature. It is created without added dyes and cold filtration. The rum comes in a nice dark green gift box.
Color: amber with brown-orange highlights
Aroma: pineapple, smoke, banana, caramel, smoked meat
Taste: bananas, mango, cane, cocoa, ginger, vanilla
Finish: long, rich, smoke, oak, chocolate, butter
