Pampero Selección 1938 is a Venezuelan dark rum that represents the pinnacle of Pampero's craftsmanship. It was created in 1938 by Alejandro Hernández, the son of a fisherman, who was the first to introduce the process of aging rum in oak barrels in Venezuela. This rum is a blend of local sugar cane spirits that have been aged for 5 to 6 years in bourbon and sherry casks, giving it a complex and harmonious flavour.
The aroma of Pampero Selección 1938 is smooth and sweet, with hints of vanilla, fruit, tobacco and oak. The palate is round and balanced, with notes of cocoa, honey, sherry and fruit. The finish is long and pleasant, with a touch of tobacco and vanilla. The colour of the rum is a deep amber, which reflects its long maturation in oak barrels.
This rum is ideal for slow sipping, whether neat or on the rocks, and is also an excellent base for premium cocktails. With its balance and complexity, it has won several awards, including a gold medal at the Rum and Cachaça Masters 2022 and the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2022. Pampero Selección 1938 is available in 0,7 l with an alcohol content of 40 % and is an exceptional experience for any lover of fine rum.
