Planteray XO 20th Anniversary is a luxury rum created to celebrate Alexander Gabriel's 20th anniversary as head blender at Planteray. It is the result of a masterful fusion of Barbadian opulence and French savoir-faire, resulting in an exceptionally indulgent rum.
Planteray XO 20th Anniversary is a blend of carefully selected extra aged rums from Barbados. They are first aged in ex-bourbon casks in Barbados for 8 to 15 years, then transported to southwest France where they are aged in small French oak ex-cognac casks for a further 2 to 10 years. This traditional double maturation process gives the rum incredible finesse and complexity.
Tasting this rum reveals a sophisticated palette of flavours including chocolate, vanilla, ripe banana, roasted coconut and hints of fresh mango. The nose is complex, with exotic notes of sugar cane, oaky vanilla and roasted coconut, enriched with aromas of cocoa, candied orange and cigarette box. This rum has the colour of old mahogany, indicating its long maturation and rich flavour.
