Ron Colón Salvadoreño High Proof Aged Rum
Ron Colón Salvadoreño High Proof Aged Rum is a premium Spanish-style rum with a high alcohol content of 55.5%. The edition with the blue label contains a molasses rum created by blending Salvadoran rum with Jamaican rums in the following proportions:
■ 70% of the blend is 6-year-old column-still rum from the famous Salvadoran distillery Licorera Cihuatán Distillery
■ 15% 3-year-old Jamaican pot-still from Worthy Park
■ 15% young pot still rum from the distilleries Worthy Park, Hampden, and Monymusk
The Salvadoran portion of the rum blend is created through a 36-hour fermentation of molasses. It is then distilled and blended under the expert supervision of master blender Gabriela Alaya and aged in white oak bourbon barrels. Its flavor is then harmoniously complemented by the flavors of Jamaica.
The resulting rum offers a bold and distinctive flavor profile. It’s exactly the type of rum that you can recognize even when mixed in a cocktail. Its taste features fresh pineapple, green bananas, green apples, caramel, and nutty chocolate. It would be a shame not to mix a Piña Colada with it, don’t you think?
