Ron Colón Salvadoreño High Proof Aged Rum
Ron Colón Salvadoreño High Proof Aged Rum is a premium Spanish-type rum with a high 55.5% alcohol content. The blue-label edition hides molasses rum created by mixing Salvadoran rum with Jamaican rums in the following proportions:
■ 70% of the mixture consists of 6-year column-still rum from the famous Salvadoran distillery Licorera Cihuatán Distillery
■ 15% 3-year-old Jamaican pot-still from Worthy Park
■ 15% young pot still rum from Worthy Park, Hampden and Monymusk distilleries
The Salvadoran portion of the rum mixture is formed by a 36-hour fermentation of molasses. It is then distilled and mixed under the professional supervision of master blender Gabriela Alaya and matured in white oak barrels after bourbon. Its taste is then harmoniously complemented with the tastes of Jamaica.
The resulting rum offers a distinctive and distinctive taste profile. It is exactly the type of rum that you will recognize mixed in a cocktail. You can smell fresh pineapple and green bananas, green apples, caramel or nut chocolate in its taste. It would be a shame not to mix Piña Colada with him, don't you think?
