Bundle Admiral Rodney Royal Oak + Princessa + Formidable
Admiral Rodney HMS Royal Oak is a Caribbean molasses rum from the island of St. Lucia. It is named after the Royal Oak ship, which was part of the fleet of British Admiral Sir George Brydges Rodney in the battle for territorial supremacy in the Caribbean.
The exceptional flavor of this rum comes from the distillation method of Coffey still and subsequent extraction of the distillate from the lower parts of the apparatus to achieve a balanced flavor suitable for long aging that leads to the development of a distinct and complex flavor profile. Then, it is aged in American oak barrels previously used for bourbon and expertly blended rums aged 7-12 years.
Admiral Rodney HMS Princessa is a blended rum from the Caribbean island of Saint Lucia. It is produced by distilling using the Coffey still, with the distillate extracted from the lower part of the apparatus to achieve a robust and rich flavor profile. The rum is aged in American oak barrels previously used for bourbon and in port casks.
The final blend was expertly crafted from rums aged 5-9 years. Admiral Rodney Princessa rum offers notes of raisins, vanilla, honey, Caribbean spices, oak, and crème brûlée. A fantastic rum that we recommend tasting from the Admiral Rodney brand as a first!
Rum is named after a British officer and one of the key ships of the British fleet, HMS Princessa. Admiral Rodney was an outstanding naval strategist who broke the French line in the "Battle of Saints," allowing Britain to dominate the Caribbean.
Admiral Rodney HMS Formidable is a molasses rum from the island of St. Lucia. It is exclusively drawn from the lowest part of the distillation apparatus (Coffey still) as a heavier rum with richer flavors. It is then expertly aged by blending 9-12 year old rums and matures in ex-bourbon casks. The result is a delicious rum with notes of honey, vanilla, and toast, with aromas of oak and sweet spices.
The rum is named after Admiral Rodney's flagship in the naval battle in the Caribbean (a decisive battle where the French lines were defeated, securing British dominance over the Caribbean. The battle took place at sea between the islands of Guadeloupe and Dominica).
