Rooster Rojo Mezcal is handcrafted by Lopes Sosa Palenque, a small artisan distillery in San Juan del Rio, Oaxaca, Mexico. Each bottle is signed by Maestro Mezcalero (Mezcal Master) Rodolfo Lopez Juan, certifying that he followed proper production procedures and signifying his agreement that this liquid is perfect for mezcal lovers everywhere.

The bottle is dark, similar to traditional clay bottles. The purpose is to prevent the liquid from being exposed to direct sunlight and from being seen by the 'evil eye' before consumption. This is a traditional Oaxacan belief. The bottles are filled with 43 % alcohol with a volume of 0,7 l.

Mezcal is a rare liquid and almost all mezcals are made by hand using the traditional tahona wheel and handmade.
