Gusano Rojo with a worm
Gusano Rojo is a real Mexican mezcal, made from 100 % agave of the Angustifolia variety. Hailing from the Mexican state of Oaxaca, it has been distilled twice and matured in 2 months in oak barrels.
Gusano Rojo means Red Worm in translation and can be found both on the label and inside the bottle. It is the most widespread mezcal in the world, sold in more than 22 countries. In fact, it is a butterfly larva that lives inside agave hearts and has been added to them since the 1950s!
