Hampden Estate HLCF 12-year-old Rare Cask Series #79 is the 2nd rum released in a special edition of high-ester rums distilled in the Jamaican distillery Hampden in 2010. It is a molasses pure single rum fermented with the help of natural yeasts and distilled using the pot still method. Rum matured for 12 years in ex-bourbon casks in a tropical climate and labeled HLCF following the taste experience with esters at the level of 500-700 g/hla.
Produced only in a limited number of 243 bottles for the whole world.
Nose: lively, delicate, candied lemon, ripe bananas, kiwi, lychee, white flowers, pears
Taste: inscrutable, milk notes of coconut and agave, pear, nutmeg, herbal notes, rhubarb and vanilla
Finish: long and oily, empyreumatic, notes of tobacco, gentian, salted butter caramel, raspberry and cherry
