La Maison du Rhum Colombie 2010/ 2022 Batch No.5
La Maison du Rhum Colombia 2010/ 2022 Batch No.5 is a Colombian molasses rum produced by the family-owned Hacienda Coloma distillery.
This rum was distilled in 2010. The rum was then matured for 12 years in ex-bourbon casks in a tropical climate and further matured in coffee liqueur casks. Hacienda Coloma is located in the central Moorish region of Colombia and has been owned by the Constain family for 2 generations. Founder Alberto Constain Medina created the most famous coffee liqueur in Colombia.
In 2022, a total of 4975 examples were released for the La Maison du Rhum collection.
The aroma reveals a gourmand roast register with caramel, toasted wood and coffee, all flavoured with a touch of molasses. On the palate, the roasted character is evident. Caramel-coated toasted pecans bring a lovely intensity of flavour to the mid-palate, then the typically vanilla and nougat accents, along with oak, melt on the tongue.
La Maison du Rhum is a brand created in 2017 by Dugas, a French distributor that distributes more than half of Martinique's rum brands in France, and very popular rums such as Don Papa and Diplomatico.
The brand operates on the principle of the so-called "independent bottler". Their activity is focused on sourcing the best rums from distilleries around the world and then bottling them under their own label. In the relatively short time they have been in business, they have managed to release several bottlings that have become legendary in the rum enthusiast community.
In terms of presentation, the bottle is accompanied by a gift tube and a colorful label, all in a retro colonial style. The date of distillation and bottling, the type of casks used, the name of the distillery, the type of distillation equipment: all this is carefully indicated on the label of each bottle, proving that the brand's designers have perfectly understood the requirements of today's spirit lovers.
The bottles are filled at 46 % alcohol with a volume of 0,7 l.
