Gin Bareksten represents the essence of Norway in both taste and aroma. It is dark, wild, captivating and dramatic. Bareksten draws inspiration for its gins from the dark forests of Norway, where the sun rarely shines, where the forests are inhabited by mystical creatures living at the roots of ancient oak trees.
The gin is distilled in small batches, resulting in a very strong product with a sublime fruity expression. It has a traditional base line, but you'll find hints of wild blueberries, cranberries, rhubarb, elderflower, mint and 20 other different ingredients.
With long hours of daylight, warm days and cool nights, Norway has perhaps the best conditions in the world for growing herbs and wild berries. 18 of the 26 botanicals used in Bareksten grow in the area around the distillery. The basic product, which is potatoes, is locally sourced, as every effort is made to ensure that Norwegian products are used.
The gin is made from purely natural herbal extracts, the combination of which is strictly guarded.
