Bumbu is a blended rum made according to the original recipe of sailors from the West Indies from the 16th and 17th centuries, who mixed typical Caribbean fruits and spices into their rum.
Modern processing of this mixture in the form of mixed rum Bumbu consists of spices and sugar cane from 8 countries - Barbados, Belize, Brazil, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guyana and Honduras. It matures in ex-bourbon barrels and its oldest component matures for a respectable 15 years.
