Rum Relicario Dominicano Superior is a truly noble and interesting drink. It matures by the soler method, which means that it is not a distillate of a certain age, but a mixture of individual distillates with different maturation lengths. They are matured in different barrels and then mixed. It is a sophisticated method that comes from Spain. It matures in ex-brandy and ex-sherry barrels. Ron Relicario is a mixture of rums aged 5, 8 and 12 years.
Ron Relicario is a rum with full flavor. Delicate tones of vanilla and fresh fruit tickle the nose. You will clearly feel on your tongue that it is a ripe and well-developed rum, slightly sweet with woody tones, vanilla and roasted almonds. The extravagant love of detail and the bottle with a heavy glass bottom also clearly show the power of Ron Relicario rum, an exclusive rum from the Dominican Republic.
Plantation Guatemala & Belize Gran Anejo Rum is one of the newest additions to the Plantation portfolio, a blend of rums from Guatemala and Belize in Central America.
Guatemala produces their rums from fermented sugar cane juice, instead of using traditional molasses. The rum is aged for 3 years in ex-bourbon oak barrels, using the Solera system. Belize's rum is aged in ex-sherry oak barrels for 4 to 6 years, also using the Solera system.
Solera refers to the set of rums used in rum production. It is a layering of casks on top of each other, with the oldest rum in the lower cask and the youngest rum in the upper cask. The rums are then blended in the final process and the oldest rum is most often listed on the rum label.
The rum is bottled at 42 % alcohol and 0,7 l. The bottle comes in a stylish gift box.
The rum has an aroma and taste of aromatic teas, chocolate and characteristic liquorice. It goes well with cigars. Montecristo No2 or Hoyo de Monterrey are recommended with Plantation Guatemala & Belize.
