Foursquare Magisterium 16 Year Old
Foursquare Magisterium is an exclusive blend that embodies the mastery of the Foursquare distillery in Barbados. Distilled from molasses using the traditional method.
Foursquare Rum Distillery announced in September that it is releasing a 16-year-old single blended rum as part of its Exceptional Cask Selection. The Mark XXVI Magisterium is what the Barbados rum brand describes as a unique release that Master Blender Richard Seale selects only when he finds casks of "exceptional quality."
This rum is born from a double distillation that combines Double-Retort Pot Still and Continuous Twin Column Coffey Still. Two of the three rums were double-aged to capture a rich and refined aromatic palette. Aged for 16 years in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, giving it unparalleled complexity and depth.
Magisterium is more accurately a blend of three 16-year-old single blended rums. Single blended rums are a category of blended rums in which all of the components have been distilled at a single distillery.
One of them was aged for 3 years in bourbon barrels and 13 years in Oloroso sherry casks. The other rum spent 9 years in bourbon barrels and 7 years in Oloroso sherry casks. The last rum was aged for 16 years exclusively in bourbon barrels.
The blending and aging process of the rums was done under the guidance of Master Distiller and Master Blender Richard Seale of Foursquare Rum Distillery.
Inspired by the concept of "Magisterium," this rum embodies symbolic authority in the world of spirits, championing the art of traditional distillation and purity of flavors. Each bottle testifies to respect for tradition and allows connoisseurs to appreciate an authentic product.
With woody aromas, dried fruits and a subtle caramel note, Foursquare - Magisterium reveals a round palate, enriched with notes of vanilla, spice and a silky finish. This complex rum is a real treasure for discerning connoisseurs.
This rum is bottled at up to 58 % natural alcohol (fullproof) in 0,7 l bottles .
