Caol Ila 18 Year Old
Caol Ila 18 Year Old is a single malt whisky coming from the Scotch island of Islay. Local whisky is famous for its smoky character by varying intensity of peatiness in flavour profile. This time you have honour to meet with the one with very light sweet peat smoke in a bottle of delicious, golden coloured whisky. The phenols from the peat smoke in the taste have been pleasantly grounded by 18 years of aging in oak barrels for a balanced and complex taste. Caol Ila 18 Year Old is a classic Islay whisky reminding beach bonfire during the sunset, accompanied by mineral notes of sea water and peat completed with sweet vanilla and oak wood.
Caol Ila, founded in 1846 by Hector Henderson near Port Askaig on the island of Islay, means "Sound of Islay" in Gaelic. One of the reasons for its location was to provide a source of fresh water, and since then water has been important in many ways - the waterfall has supplied power for barley hoists and pressure for fire hydrants.
Since 2002, Caol Ila has been regularly recognized worldwide at the most prestigious events.
The bottles are filled at 43 % ABV with a volume of 0,7 l. They are supplied in gift cartons.
