At Laphroaig Select, the Islay distillery takes whiskey from several different types of barrels, including Oloroso Sherry barrel, American oak white barrel, Pedro Ximenez spicy barrel, Quarter casks and bourbon casks after the first filling. Quite a good choice, what do you say? A casual addition to the main range of Laphroaig single malt whiskey.
Laphroaig Select is not a particularly peaty whisky, so it may be just the right ticket to the world of smoky wonders of Islay.
