Bruichladdich 18 Year Old
Pronunciation: { Bru-kla-di }Bruichladdich 18 Year Old is a single malt Scotch whisky from the Islay region that represents the distillery's unpeated (unsmoked) style. It is matured exclusively on Islay, predominantly in ex-bourbon casks and a smaller number of wine casks, giving it a complex flavour profile.
The nose of the whisky is aromatic with notes of ripe peaches and wintergreen, hints of violets and lavender, balanced by vanilla and creamy coconut from the American oak. A mix of tropical fruits such as melon, peach, apricot and lively citrus emerge, while the oak influence brings honey, caramel, vanilla custard and rich crème brûlée.
The palate is luxurious and viscous, with honey, caramel and fresh fruit coating the palate, followed by cereal notes of sweet, syrup-soaked porridge, barley sugar and toasted oak. Vibrant tropical fruit and subtle oak presence with a hint of leather, while honeycomb adds to the smooth, sweet character.
The bottle is made from an average of 60 % recycled glass and is finished with a Vinolok decanter-style glass cap. The outer packaging is made from fully recyclable paper, reflecting the distillery's commitment to sustainability.
The bottles are filled at 50 % alcohol.
