Laphroaig 34 Year Old The Ian Hunter Story Book 5 Edition
Laphroaig 34 Year Old The Ian Hunter Story Book 5 Edition is the culmination of the Ian Hunter series, a collection of mature single malt whiskies celebrating and paying tribute to the lasting impact one remarkable man had on the history of the Laphroaig brand.
This latest release celebrates the lasting legacy of the last member of the Johnston family to own and run the Laphroaig distillery. This is an exceptionally rare, very limited edition whisky - to own it is to own a part of our history and our heritage.
Ian Hunter had a wonderful vision for the future of Laphroaig and nurtured its growth alongside the rich heritage of Islay and its people. This dedication and passion is why the Scotch whisky you enjoy today boasts such a distinctive flavour that sets it apart from the rest.
It was he who, following his travels to the United States, introduced ex-bourbon American oak casks to the maturation process and who created the maltings that are still in use today. Ian's vision and influence give the whisky its iconic flavour and continue to guide the distillery's practices and techniques, both from the infrastructure he put in place and the legacy he left for all generations of the Laphroaig distilling team to be inspired by.
The fifth and final instalment in this iconic series is a 34-year-old single malt whisky with an intriguing taste of classic Laphroaig peat combined with accents of fruity blueberry and sweet, rich butter. This combination of classic and modern flavours shows the evolving vision and individuality that Ian Hunter had in mind for Laphroaig whisky, making it a distillery legacy that is sure to endure.
The bottles are filled at 45,5% ABV with a 0,7 l capacity. They are supplied in gift boxes.
