This pure rum Hampden 8 Year Old from Hampden Estate was created in collaboration with the famous Italian distillery Velier. The rum is sourced from Jamaica and is made according to a recipe dating back to the 18th century. It is the flagship of the range, perfectly embodying the aromatic complexity and versatility for which the brand is renowned.
Hampden is known for producing incredibly high-ester rums that are created using wild fermentation and packed with tropical fruit flavours. No sugar is added to the rum. It is distilled exclusively in pot stills using locally sourced spring water and tropical aged in 190 litre ex-bourbon casks for 8 years. The combination of these factors will transport you to true rum heaven.
The bottles have been bottled at 46 % alcohol and come in a gift box. The visuals of the box, as well as the bottle label, detail and describe the pillars and legacy of the brand.

Equiano is a unique Afro-Caribbean unsweetened molasses rum. This blend is mixed with molasses from Gray's distilleries on the African island of Mauritius and Foursquare on the island of Barbados.
Rum is first aged in Mauritius for 10 years in Limousin French oak and ex-cognac barrels. They are then transported to Barbados, where they are mixed with rum, which has been aged for at least 8 years in ex-bourbon barrels in Barbados.
Rum is named after the Nigerian writer Olaudah Equiano, who was a prominent aboliconist, a traveler, and one of the first slave freedom fighters in Africa. By trading in rum, Olaudah redeemed himself from slavery and could devote himself to the slave liberation movement. This is one of the reasons why the rum company (Equiano Rum Co) devotes a certain percentage of its profits to promoting equality.
Equiano is exclusively mixed and bottled at Foursquare Distillery in Barbados.
