Don Papa Gayuma, which translates to "love elixir", is a premium rum that pays homage to the rituals of the shamans of Mt. Kanlaon and Isla del Fuego in the Philippines.
This rum is aged for three years in American oak barrels that previously contained bourbon, and then double-aged. It is aged for six months in heavily fired Rioja wine casks and a further three months in oak casks formerly containing Islay whiskies, known for their distinctive peaty profile.
The nose is full of subtle notes of peat. The flavour of the rum is delicate and smooth, with velvety notes that bring out the complexity of the maturation.
This rum represents a unique blend of traditional Filipino craftsmanship and innovative processing that will be appreciated by lovers of complex and sophisticated flavours.
