The story of the unique slivovitz Rudolf Jelinek Vizovická Slivovitz Stanley 2020 started to be written a few years ago.

For centuries, the climate of the Wallachian region has been favourable to plums and their cultivation. Therefore, in 2003, the enthusiasts from the Jelínek distillery followed the orchard tradition and began planting their own plum orchards on the southern slope of the Vizovice Valley, in the area called Těchlov. Five years later, they harvested their first crop of Vizovice plums and started a new tradition - the production of a limited series of Vizovice Slivovitz R. Jelínek.

The plums are always harvested one variety at a time and must be distilled in the same way. After at least one and a half years of ageing, one distillate is selected together with the members of the Friends of Jelínek Slivovitz and bottled as the annual limited Vizovice R. Jelínek Slivovitz. Jelínek.

The Stanley variety, a stalwart of world fruit growing, is very popular with gardeners and professional fruit growers alike. It was bred in the 1920s in the USA. In the orchards of R. Jelínek, Stanley is grown on an area of almost 13 hectares and was included in the planting as soon as the orchards were established in 2003.

The blue-purple fruit reaches maturity around 10 September at a sugar content of about 23 brix. The plum is very juicy when cut in half and the greenish-yellow flesh has an aroma reminiscent of blossom honey. The Stanley variety has a very wide range of uses, apart from the production of traditional plum brandy, it is used for drying or for making jam.

Vizovice Slivovitz 2020 Stanley was produced in a batch of 5 020 bottles, each of which is marked with a serial number. The bottles are filled at 50 % alcohol with a volume of 0,7 l.
